    Testing & Reviews Editor (February 2011 - Current)
    • Analyzed traffic patterns for TTAG’s website to provide insight on how best to grow readership and pageviews. As a direct result of that analysis and the implementation of those recommendations traffic increased 800% over two years and continues to be the most visited website in its category.
    • Responsible for maintaining a WordPress based website and associated MySQL database ranked by Alexa in the top 3,000 in the United States with over 3 million readers per month.
    • Wrote and maintained a database driven news feed system called “TTAG+” (using PHP and MySQL) which imported articles from specified RSS feeds, analyzed their content for key words, and learned which articles users were most interested based on those key words in order to present users with a customized and personalized news feed.

  • The Range at Austin
    Position (January 2016 - December 2016)
    • Oversaw IT related projects and managed a budget of roughly $1.1 Million. Provided cost savings suggestions totaling $500,000 to management.
    • Managed the design and implementation of custom software to support the functions of a shooting range, including an online firing range lane reservation system, electronic bound book which meets ATF regulatory requirements, and digital 4473 processing system. Elicited the requirements for the systems from stakeholders and ensured that the final design met expectations.

  • Rackspace Hosting
    Network Security Administrator (February 2012 - February 2016)
    • Configured and provided troubleshooting assistance for Cisco and Juniper networking devices including multiple models of switches, routers, and both PIX and ASA firewalls. Worked with customers to ensure that VPN access was properly configured for site-to-site and client-to-site applications.
    • Maintained and optimized F5, Brocade, and Cisco load balancers to properly serve traffic intensive websites as well as provide the ability to quickly ramp up for traffic spikes
    • Analyzed cyber attacks directed at Rackspace customers and provided information about the origin and nature of attacks to stakeholders. Also recommended solutions (both immediate and long term) which would stop the attack and keep it from happening again.

    Risk Analyst (May 2010 - January 2012)
    • Performed analytical work regarding various Homeland Security related risks for government clients and assisted in writing technical reports based on the findings.
    • Designed, wrote and implemented a system using PHP to automate parts of existing risk analysis tools and perform excursion analyses.
    • Designed, implemented and administered databases using MySQL and Microsoft Access to hold milti million record databases and performed analyses of the data within to support ongoing DHS projects.
    • Acted as the project manager and point of contact for government clients on select projects.

    • Generated documentation on how to use risk analysis tools for people without a background in risk analysis for the FEMA RiskWiki project
    • Researched the use of games to teach people about risk analysis and the decision making process.
